I am a would-be-naturalist and might-be-scientist, currently taking a bachelor in Biology at Aarhus University, Denmark. I have long been obsessively interested in nature, past and present, alongside other, less obviously related passions, such as history, philosophy, and more.

Over the last ten years I have volunteered for international nature-organisations, written online articles, run blogs, and been a keen follower and advocate of conservation. The rewilding movement in particular lit a fire in me from a young age, and it is my hope and dream to play a part in the restoration of species lost and landscapes gone.

With The Extinctions, I hope to help explore and elucidate the past, both that we might better understand the world that was, and know the one that is.

Hodari Nundu — Palaeoartist

I am a Mexican born artist and naturalist currently trying his hand at paleoart. I have been fascinated by wildlife past and present ever since I can remember, and deeply regret that life is not long enough to learn everything there is to learn. I have volunteered in zoos and worked as an Entomology curator for a Natural History Museum.

I am happiest when chasing wildlife in its natural habitat. As such, I am deeply saddened by the ongoing biodiversity crisis, and often daydream about a wilder, more pristine world.

My gateway into prehistory as a young boy were dinosaurs, of course, but currently I am particularly fascinated by the Pleistocene epoch- a time that combines a familiar cast of charismatic creatures with a more exotic menagerie of marvels lost to extinction. It is, very much, our world, but in its richer, original state, and prime fuel for any artist’s imagination.

Through my art I hope to transmit some of my sense of wonder, and hopefully help others appreciate not just the spectacular creatures that once existed, but also the ones we risk losing today

I am a well-rounded nature lover, particularly interested in Palaeontology and Conservation. Born and raised in Denmark. I spent my teenage years in Malaysia, received an undergraduate degree in Biology at Imperial College London and am currently doing a Master’s in Nature Management at the University of Copenhagen.

Megafauna especially fascinates me, where they roam there is a demonstrably huge ecological impact and yet much of the modern world has languished without them for millennia. I find myself yearning for the landscapes of the past – daydreaming about the world as seen by our distant ancestors.

I wish to understand why we lost the vast herds of megafauna – and a host of other organisms and how their loss has shaped the modern-day. My goal with The Extinctions is to explore these topics and more
